Douglas ratepayers call for Council spending review

Unhappy Douglas ratepayers have contacted a Member of the Legislative Council to voice their concerns over the Council's spending.

The group has asked MLC Juan Turner to help launch a major review of what it has called the "huge wasteful spending of Douglas Corporation".

Their main concerns include how much is spent on overtime, the number of vans used by the local authority and the number of managers.

Mr Turner has stated that he will investigate, but also recommends they contact their Councillors, and those seeking election to the House of Keys for the Douglas constituencies.
