Crash biker escapes serious injury

A biker remains in hospital following a crash with a truck.

It happened at 4.40 yesterday afternoon near to the railway station on the Main Road in Santon.

The blue and black BMW was travelling towards Douglas when it collided with a heavy goods vehicle belonging to Colas.

The rider of the biker was taken to Noble's, although police have confirmed their injuries aren't life threatening.

The lorry driver wasn't injured.

The road was shut for three and half hours whilst the scene was cleared and investigations were carried out.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

In particular, they'd like to speak to the driver of a yellow MG ZR which was travelling towards Ballasalla.
