A new class has been added to next year's TT.
Supertwin machines will be raced over three laps on the morning of the Senior Race.
The addition of the 650cc twin cylinder bikes will see the return of the Lightweight TT trophy, last awarded in 2004.
Many TT riders, including Ryan Farquhar, Adrian Archibald and Manxman Dan Kneen, regularly compete on Supertwins at other meetings.
The Department of Economic Development will put up a prize fund of twenty five thousand pounds for the race.
Organisers are expecting a large field for the race, with leading manufacturers already expressing an interest in entering.
