Time stands still as clock undergoes maintenance

Castle Rushen clock

Time will stand still in Castletown for the rest of the year as major restoration work on the Castle Rushen clock is undertaken.

Manx National Heritage says it has noticed signs of wear on the clock, and has taken the decision to stop it for the rest of the visitor season.

The clock will be dismantled and cleaned, before being rebuilt

Whilst the work is carried out, Manx National Heritage will also be carrying out scientific analysis to try to date to clock more accurately.
