Working and living conditions on Isle of Man registered ships are to be improved.
The Isle of Man has signed a declaration designed to improve the conditions for all seafarers.
The Declaration of Principles was originally signed in 2003, and has now been brought up to date with global developments.
The Island is also working towards adopting the Maritime Labour Convention, which is due to enter in to force next year and will be the new worldwide standard covering the rights of seafarers.
