The current MHK for Michael is angry that the Department of Social Care hasn't put an emergency operation in place following the closure of Jurby General Stores.
David Cannan says the Department doesn't care about the residents of Jurby.
The store, which is the only shop in Jurby, closed at the start of the week.
The owners of One Stop Shop in Ballaugh had offered to take over the shop.
Mr Cannan says they could have re-opened the store within 24 hours, and is unhappy that the Department of Social Care has chosen not to do so.
However, the Department says the lease must go out to tender, and that the One Stop Shop owners were only offering a permanent service rather than a temporary one.
Mr Cannan, who isn't standing for re-election in September, believes it will take weeks to get a new tenant in place, and that Social Care Minister Martyn Quayle should be ashamed that the residents of Jurby will be disadvantaged in the meantime.
The Department of Social Care is advertising the lease through Black Grace Cowley, and says there have already been 10 expressions of interest
