Yacht goes missing off the Manx coast

A major sea search is underway off the south of the Island for a yacht which is missing.

One man is thought to be onboard.

The boat left the Isle of Man last night and was on its way to Ardglass in Northern Ireland.

The last contact with the yacht is thought to have been early this morning, when the man onboard spoke to his brother on the telephone.

Coastguard teams from the Isle of Man, Liverpool and Northern Ireland along with Port Erin and Port St Mary lifeboat crews are taking part in the search.

Rescuers have been trying to reach the man via his mobile phone.
