More help for people to get on the property ladder

It's hoped more people will be able to on the property ladder with new rules for the house purchase assistance scheme.

For the next 12 months, people buying their first homes on the open market will be able to earn £10,000 more and still be eligible for a grant.

The move was approved in Tynwald this week.

Minister for the Department of Social Care Martyn Quayle says it will stimulate the housing market as well as help first-time buyers.
