Wounding accused remanded in custody

A Douglas man has appeared in court accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

22 year old John Joseph Redmond from Hillside Avenue is charged in connection with an incident on Athol Street on Monday morning.

A 61 year old Douglas man remains in hospital after undergoing surgery for his injuries.

There was no application for bail.

Redmond was remanded in custody until 19th July.
