The Island's school curriculum is being modernised.
The Department of Education and Children has launched new guidelines for its teachers.
Schools said they wanted to focus less on teaching specific content, and receive more guidance on the principals behind it.
The DEC began re-writing the curriculum a year ago, starting with research, looking at other countries' systems and discussing how best to support schools.
It's the first time teaching has been revised since 2006.
The new curriculum is available online
