The Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure insists the NSC athletics track is fit for purpose for the Commonwealth Youth Games.
David Cretney had been asked whether it needed remedial works as it now retains more water after periods of rain.
However, Mr Cretney says this is down to a new type of surface, which was laid last summer.
He also confirmed that £4000 had been spent on relaying the javelin runway after the works, as it particularly had suffered with puddles.
The track had been passed by the International Association of Athletics Federations before the additional work to the javelin area.
