An internal police inquiry into a botched investigation will take around three months.
It comes after a Deemster threw an alleged stabbing case out of court because of mistakes made by investigating officers.
Questions were asked in the House of Keys today about the Isle of Man Constabulary's review.
Onchan MHK Peter Karran wanted to know about the relationship between the defendant and a serving policeman and if any of the officers involved have been suspended from duty.
