A politician has lost her bid to save the post of a specialist breast care surgeon at Noble's Hospital.
Brenda Cannell wanted Tynwald to overrule the Department of Health's decision to appoint a breast consultant who will also carry out other types of surgery.
There've been complaints from some people that the service is being downgraded but the department denies this is the case.
Mrs Cannell's motion was defeated in Tynwald last night and health bosses will now be able to go ahead with the new appointment as they'd planned.
