It's unlikely there'll be any development on the all Island taxi licence before the General Election in September.
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says the advisory committee on taxis has asked for more time, and probably won't report back to Tynwald before parliament is dissolved next month.
Proposals to allow Manx taxi drivers to ply for hire throughout the Island were withdrawn from Tynwald earlier this year, after cabbies demonstrated outside the sitting.
