The wife of a well-known tycoon has lost an appeal against her jail sentence.
Earlier this year, Wendy Baines and her husband Trevor pleaded guilty to stealing £400,000 from a trust fund to pay legal fees for a previous money laundering trial.
Trevor Baines admitted further offences and was jailed for two and a half years.
Mrs Baines was given an 18 month prison sentence.
She lodged an appeal against the length of her jail term, saying the Deemster hadn't distinguished between the offences committed by her and Mr Baines.
It was also claimed that the money that was stolen mainly benefited Trevor Baines and that she was given no credit for intending to repay it.
The appeal Deemsters didn't find the sentence to be too harsh and dismissed the case.
