Crash death inquests adjourned

Inquests have opened into the deaths of three people who died on the Island's roads during TT fortnight.

65 year old Robert Kneale from Clagh Vane in Ballasalla was killed at the Fairy Bridge following a head-on crash with a car.

A post mortem found he died of massive blunt force trauma to the thorax and upper abdomin.

An Australian man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

The inquest has been adjourned until the criminal proceedings are complete.

Irish TT competitor Derek Brien died in the first Supersport race at Gorselea.

The inquest heard the 34 year old died from massive blunt force trauma.

Coroner of Inquests Alistair Montgomerie said he was a well known rider who will be sorely missed.

Bristol man Justin Lee Winstone died at Brandywell shortly before the Superbike race on 4th June.

Paramedics described how he was thrown down the side of the Mountain following the crash.

He died from head injuries.

The 40 year old was married with two children.

Mr Montgomerie released the bodies of all three men, and extended his sympathies to their friends and families.
