More traffic problems expected in Douglas later

Traffic in Douglas is expected to be extremely bad later and delays are inevitable.

That's according to police who expect a repeat of Monday's gridlocked roads.

The closure of the TT course is expected to continue through until late afternoon or early evening, after rain delayed today's start.

Police will be out on point duty and the DOI will be on hand to change traffic light sequences to help traffic flow, where possible.

At the moment it's not known if crossing points are going to open around the course.

Inspector Terry Stephen says it would help if people could change their journey times.[play audio file]
