A man's been wounded in an assault outside a Douglas hotel.
It happened around 7.15 yesterday morning on the front steps of the Trevelyan on Queen's Promenade.
The victim suffered facial injuries, which police say are serious but not life threatening.
Investigators want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, especially a group of men who left the hotel right after the assault.
Police say the offender and the victim were strangers, but had been associating at the time of the attack.
They say they want to reassure people that there is no direct threat to other members of the public.
