Witnesses sought to serious assault

Police are investigating following a serious assault in Douglas.

The incident happened in the lane off Howard Street at around 10.00pm on Thursday.

Officers are looking to speak with possible witnesses, particularly those who spoke to police at the scene, and a couple who were seen to walk past the area at the time.

Police say those involved are known to each other, and that there is no direct threat to the general public.
