Ballaugh headteacher to retire

The headteacher of Ballaugh Primary School is retiring after 17 years in charge.

Richard Clark has spent 37 years teaching in the Island's primary schools.

Dr Graeme Cushnie, deputy head at Manor Park, will take over temporarily from September.

The Department of Education and Chlidren says there wasn't time to appoint a permanent successor to Mr Clark due to Easter falling late this year.

The Department says Mr Clark will be missed by all at the school, and wishes him a happy retirement
