A higher than forecast surplus was recorded by the Government in the last financial year.
The accounts show the Government made £9.6 million in the year ending March 31st, when just £1.7 million was expected.
The Treasury says the increased figure is down to lower than predicted spending within Departments.
Income over the year was £538 million, compared to expenditure of £528 million.
No funds were transferred to the Government reserves
