The number of members on the board of Onchan Commissioners could be reduced.
Chairman Brian Stowell presented a motion at a meeting last night to have the number brought down from seven to five.
Mr Stowell believes it would bring down costs, reduce the time at meetings and help local authority reform.
If the idea gets seconded next week it will go to a vote in June.
Mr Stowell says he'll stand down as Chairman this month, after announcing his intention to stand the General Elections this September.
