The Department of Health has expressed its disappointment after Kirk Michael residents said they didn't want the local GP service to move into Michael Primary School.
The Department had hoped to convert an empty part of the school into a surgery, but almost two thirds of residents who responded to a consultation thought it was a bad idea.
Health Minister David Anderson says it's disappointing that the community facility won't progress.
As a result of the feedback from the public the plans have been dropped.
Planning permission to continue to use Cannan Court for the GP service was submitted earlier this week.
