Just 13% of young people who commit petty crime on the Island go on to re-offend.
The latest figures from the Departments of Social Care and Home Affairs show schemes with the Youth Justice Team help prevent criminal behaviour.
Part of the team's work involves showing young offenders the impact of their crimes on themselves, their family, their victims and the community.
The group also works with chlidren in the Island's Secure Care Home, in order to help them remain in society.
