Council to discuss eviction of new mum

Douglas Council will meet today to discuss the possible eviction of a new mum from one of their homes.

Stevie-Lea Evans has been told she must leave the home she grew up in following her father's death last year.

She's received support through social networking sites, petitions and South Douglas MHK David Cretney.

She says she's unable to bring her new born baby home from hospital as she doesn't know whether she'll still have a home

The local authority agreed to reconsider her case, having originally told her she wasn't eligible to live there
