Civil partnerships made legal
Wed, 06 Apr 2011
Gay couples can now have civil partnerships in the Isle of Man.
Laws on the Island changed today and civil ceremonies can now be booked at the registry office in Douglas.
The legislation gives same sex-couples the same rights as a husband and wife.
Civil partnerships were made legal in the UK nearly five years ago.
