Govt makes £1.1m in two years from parking tickets

Tue, 29 Mar 2011

Over 30,000 parking tickets have been handed out in the Isle of Man over the last two years.

That's around 1,300 per month between the Department of Infrastructure and the Department of Home affairs.

Around 130 per month were successfully appealed.

The information was given out as part of a written answer in the House of Keys.

Parking fines normally carry a £40 penalty.

This would mean the government has earned over £1.1m in the last two years from booking people who parked illegally.
