Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish is to be presented with the Freedom of the Borough of Douglas next month.
Douglas Council has confirmed the ceremony will take place on April 14th.
In December last year, Council Leader David Christian criticised Cavendish for not setting a date to receive the honour, more than two years after the Council chose to give the honour to the cyclist.
Previous recipients of the Honorary Freedom of the Borough include Sir Norman Wisdom, Sir Winston Churchill and the Bee Gees.
