The Infrastructure Minister hopes another way forward can be found to solve problems with the Island's taxi trade.
Phil Gawne withdrew an item from the Tynwald paper that would have led to the delimitation of taxi plates.
Cab drivers have been angry at the plans for a number of years and staged a protest before yesterday's sitting of parliament.
Mr Gawne said his change of mind came after hearing from political colleagues and taxi drivers that there could be a different and less confrontational way to address the issues.
He also says it's up to the taxi drivers to work with the department.[play audio file below]
