Talks held over looming redundancies

The Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure says the department is doing everything he said it would do to work out issues surrounding looming job losses.

 

Up to 22 posts in the heritage railways division are at risk.

 

North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson asked for an update in Tynwald today.

 

David Cretney says they've held a series of talks to look at options like voluntary redundancies and early retirement.

 

However, Mr Cretney says some of the skills are no longer needed and it's not purely a money saving exercise.
