The House of Keys has heard redevelopment is on the cards for the former outdoor swimming pool in Port Erin.
Rushen MHK Juan Watterson asked the Infrastructure Minister if his department would consider using a compulsory purchase order to aquire the derelict site in order to tidy it up.
Phil Gawne said laws don't allow for this to happen, but they do authorise local authorities to carry out works to clean up the area.
Mr Gawne said he'd be supportive of the commissioners doing this but hopes to see the owner develop the site.
The three MHKs for Rushen are due to meet with the owner this week to hear about his plans.
