The footbridge over Peel Harbour is going out of action for almost seven weeks.
Mechanical problems have hindered the operation of the Fenella Bridge for over a year and repairs will begin on Monday.
The work will be finished by 21st April.
The Department of Infrastructure asked for an investigation into the bridge's failure when it broke down for a second time last summer.
Recommendations have now been given on how the problems can be fixed permanently.
Harbour operations won't be affected by the removal of the bridge.
However, vessels won't be able to enter of leave Peel harbour during flapgate maintenence work which will take place between high-water next Tuesday and high-water on Thursday.
