The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is vowing to take a tough stance on illegal freshwater fishing.
It comes after two men were prosecuted for fishing in the River Glass during closed season last month.
Each have been made to pay nearly £400 in fines and costs, as well as having their equipment confiscated and a year's fishing ban.
The Department explains that the closed season runs from 1st November to 31st March and is in place to protect stocks while fish are spawning.
DEFA says it's up to anglers to be fully aware of the rules and regulations.
