Onchan commissioners are stopping the kerbside recycling scheme.
The local authority says it cost too much money and isn't really helping the planet.
The collection of recyclable waste from outside people's homes began in 2008 in Onchan, Douglas and Braddan.
The trial project was funded by government but the responsibility was then handed to the local authorities.
This week Onchan decided they're not going to continue beyond this September and this will leave Douglas and Braddan in difficult positions.
