Party claims budget glosses over problems

The Liberal Vannin Party says this year's budget could just be glossing over the Island's financial problems.

Lib Vannin MHK Peter Karran was the only Tynwald member to vote against the budget.

The party believes the £2million surplus that the Treasury has predicted will in fact become a £197million deficit.

It has also described some of the cuts as unfair and foolish.

Despite this the budget was positively received in Tynwald earlier this week.
