Teenagers around the Island are taking part in a survey about their use of drugs and alcohol.
The ESPAD survey is carried out in around 40 European countries and also looks at tobacco use among teens.
Parents of youngsters in school years 10 and 11 have received letters informing them of the study.
In 2009, results from a previous ESPAD survey showed Manx teenagers in a poor light.
The findings showed they had a worse track record for binge drinking than teens in the United Kingdom and nearly all of Europe -Only teens in Bulgaria were found to drink more.
Solvent abuse was nearly twice the average.
The results of the current study won't be known until next year.
