The Dept of Health is putting its support behind Cervical Cancer awareness week that starts this Sunday. (23/01/11 - 29/01/11)
1000 women die each year in the UK from cervical cancer with over 2500 new diagnosis.
Dr Paul Emerson is a consultant in public health medicine on the Island and he told us how women can help prevent against contracting the disease.

The majority of all cervical cancer cases occur in women in their late 30s or elderly women in their 70s or 80s but Dr Emerson has this advice for women of all ages who think they need more information.
