Following the announcement that the Snaefell will be removed from service, the Steam Packet Comapny has announced that 29 people will lose their jobs.
Due to increased competition in its freight division, the company has carried out a review and will now deliver 11 fewer crossings on the Irish routes.
The company CEO Mark Woodward revealed that the Manannan will cover the routes from 1st April, which will increase the size of vehicle able to travel.
It's not expected at this time that any more jobs will be lost.
