The steam Packet company has announced that The Snaefell has been removed from its operational fleet and will no longer be used for crossings to Ireland.
The announcement was made on the blog of CEO Mark Woodward on the company website.
No reason has been given for the removal of the vessel that first saw service with the company in 1994.
The Dublin and Belfast routes will now be covered by the Manannan which will increase capacity for coaches and larger vehicles.
