Douglas Council is facing 'challenging times on an unprecedented scale.'
That's the view of the Council's Leader as his attention turns to setting town's rates for the coming year.
David Christian is expecting a rigorous debate when a special meeting is held on 24th January, when the local authority will set the new rate levy.
He says the financial pressures they face include government cut backs, the rise in VAT, wage issues, increases in fuel prices and electricity tariffs.
Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting which will take place in the Council Chamber of Douglas Town Hall starting at 10.30am.
