MHK to bring Kirk Michael land-swap issue to Tynwald

An MHK is asking Tynwald to back his quest to stop a school playing field falling into the hands of developers.

Member for Michael David Cannan will raise the matter at this month's sitting.

Dandara wants land at Michael Primary School on the Douglas Road Corner in exchange for another plot nearby.

The Department of Education and Children says the swap would see it receive a larger parcel of land.

The site which Dandara wants to develop sits next to the TT course.

The idea has been in the pipeline for a number of years.

The commissioners have said they're in support, but not everyone is happy.

Mr Cannan has called a public meeting on Monday 17th January at 7.30pm at St Michael's Hall.
