A man from Union Mills has been convicted of theft and burglary.
Kieran James Keggin pleaded guilty to entering the Hydro Hotel in Douglas and attempting to steal 2 bottles of alcohol when he found the bar area unattended.
The night porter of the hotel caught the defendant red handed and Police were called.
24 hrs later Mr Keggin was caught on CCTV stealing a bottle of wine from a convenience store.
He was ordered by the deputy High Baliff to do 120 hours community service and pay court costs of just under £250 pounds
Mr Keggin was also warned that this was his final warning and should he appear before the court again he could expect a custodial sentence.
