Sports grounds targeted by vandals

Tue, 11 Jan 2011

Police are investigating after three sports grounds in the south of the Island were targeted by vandals.

Football nets at Colby and Rushen Football Clubs were slashed sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

It'll cost around £1,000 to replace the nets.

The same thing happened at the sports field at King William's College the same night.

The nets were replaced so matches could go ahead on Saturday, but on Sunday evening the nets were slashed again and thrown over the wall near Hango Hill.

Two goal posts were also uprooted and thrown onto the beach.

Anyone with information is asked to call Port Erin Police on 83 22 22.
