Witnesses sought in Douglas assault

Police in Douglas are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted on Oak Avenue in Pulrose.

The assault happened between 2 and 3 am on new years day and a number of people are said to have witnessed the assault who have not yet come forward.

Police are urging these witnesses to get in touch to help identify the attacker.

In a statement Sergeant Neil Craig from the Douglas neighbourhood policing team said "although the mans injuries were not serious, the attack was unprovoked and unacceptable.
