Commissioners defend school field plans

Michael Commissioners are defending plans which could see Dandara build on Michael Primary School's playing fields.

Education Minister Eddie Teare confirmed earlier this month that the building firm want to swap part of the Fair Field for the school grounds near Douglas Road Corner.

The move would see the Department of Education and Children 1.5 acres.

In Tynwald, Michael MHK David Cannan was critical of the plans.

However, the village's Commissioners believe the move would provide larger recreational areas, and secure the ability to develop the School in the future.
