The Manx Electricity Authority has responded to allegations of a £241,000 overspend by by Michael MHK David Cannan.
In answer to a question in the House of Keys, the Authority said the figures are not an overspend but relate to their 'retail outlets' and are made up of £192,000 of salaries and £49,000 in marketing.
The MEA's retail activity has been the centre of recent debates in Tynwald, with some members calling for an end to this part of the Authority's business. The Chief Minister has stated there is no policy to close these outlets at present.
