A mental health facility on the Island has been accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatry.
Grianagh Court is run by the Department of Social Care, and receives the acknowledgement on its first attempt.
The facility registered for the accredition nearly three years ago, and has since undergone a thorough review looking at all areas of Grianagh Court.
Accreditation for Acute Inpatient Mental Health Services is only gained at first attempt by around 10% of wards
The Department of Social Care says the accredication confirms mental health services on the Island are on a par with, if not better than in the UK.
