More wintry weather causes travel disruption

The Mountain Road earlier this year

Patches of black ice across the Island have been causing problems for drivers overnight.

Police have dealt with a number of minor collisions throughout the night due to the icy patches.

The A3 is closed due to a crash between Douglas Road Corner and Ballig Bridge. Full details of all road closures and bus disruption can be found here

Department of Infrastructure gritters were out last night, and began treating the main routes from 5.00 this morning.

However, the emergency services are warning motorists to be extremely cautious when heading to work this morning.
