The appointment of senior posts in the public sector is to be discussed in the House of Keys next week.
Onchan MHK Peter Karran will ask the Chief Minister what his policy is relating to candidates with experience in cost cutting and improving efficiency.
He'll also ask the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission - John Houghton - whether it is a requirement of applicants to display such experience.
Mr Karran has recently spoken out over the pay rewarded to the Island's Chief Secretary, the most senior post within the civil service.
The House of Keys sits on Tuesday next week.
