The Home Affairs Minister has been defending plans to build a new fire station on the Victoria Road prison site.
North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson asked Adrian Earnshaw how much the facility would cost, but the Minister said detailed costs hadn't been prepared yet.
Mr Henderson labelled the plans as "crazy", adding that they should be shelved.
The Department of Home Affairs has applied for planning permission to demolish the former prison.
Mr Earnshaw says the current fire station - on Peel Road - isn't big enough [play clip]
